Sometimes youâve been hustling everyday for a while and your body gives you a very strong signal of ânot so fast buddyâ and you have to spend the day oscillating from the bed to the couch until youâve recharged. Happens every 3 months or so, however thereâs no shame in your sole accomplishment being washing your hair. Listen to the body!
just one day. rot in bed. treat yourself to an overpriced matcha. binge that crappy tv show you only like because thereâs a sexy cast. take deep breaths. realize how long a minute can feel. just one day! it can make a huge difference.
Reset days are the key to avoiding burnout as a creative. Donât think, donât answer your phone, eat whatever you feel like eating, take a shower in the morning and a bath at 2pm, exist in a robe all day. your creative juices will recharge and youâll thank yourself later.
2021 I chopped my bangs and shoulder length hair into a mullet w/microbangs, and it was the best haircut for me and hella functional. Great to workout in, good on a windy day, looks better the dirtier. Unfortunately not too long after I saw mullets cropping up all over and rather than letting the hockey hair be watered down I cut off the long part. Sort of regret it, but the bright orange French bob I have now is fine.
When having a panic attack and/or wave of anxiety breaking over you I recommend grounding yourself in your senses. Even using your fingers to root what you say in your head. Puts up thumb, I can feel my feet hurting from standing all day. Puts up pointer finger, I can hear...Put up middle, I can taste...Puts up ring finger, I can smell...Puts up pinky, I can see...Usually do what you see last as this works best with eyes closed if possible. Another emergency measure is popping something with an intensely strong flavor. War heads work great. If you don't want to mess with candy, hot sauce directly on your tongue works too. Hope you find some relief!
