songs stink. insane amount of product placement. does that thing where it tries (& fails) to portray tiktok/social media and it just comes off as embarrassing. confusing target demographic. only went to see it because i felt like going to the theater w/my friend. not worth the money at all. spend ur time watching something better
do you really need to go see the minecraft movie? you know itâs bad. like, not even bad-but-redeemably-funny. itâs uninspired product placement propped up by celebrity and strung together by a plot just coherent enough to present the references that rile up the fans. you know the memes already, youâre not missing out on some cultural moment because you didnât see the rest of the hour-and-a-half around Jack Black saying âchicken jockey.â if you like minecraft that much (and I love minecraft), maybe you gather your friends for a LAN server night instead of paying for a ticket and putting a body in a seat and giving even a modicum of validation to the corporate film studio executiveâs intuition that the masses are content to consume high production value slop from a media trough. start a realm, get blown up by a creeper, fight the ender dragon, listen to one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. donât spend $30+ on tickets and drinks and snacks to sit in a theater and watch something you will not enjoy. in this economy, the most valuable things we have are our time, attention, and connections. donât squander these things on a piece of media designed only to profit from a sentimental attachment to a game which provides a complete and much richer experience in and of itself.
obviously a little immoral. donât pirate every book you read. physical books are cooler anyway. but having access to such a wealth of information for free is so beautiful and shouldnât be demonized. being able to find & read out of print or rare books through torrenting or little downloads is bonkers. people a century ago couldn't have dreamt of something like this
fixing my sleep schedule was a big priority while working with my therapist a couple years ago. set strict rules of no caffeine after 3pm (it affects ur sleep even if you think it's not), eat/drink things that will naturally improve circadian rhythm (e.g. chamomile tea), etc. also they don't fucking lie about putting your phone down at least 30 mins before going to sleep, it seriously improves sleep quality. find a book u enjoy and just read for 30 mins before bed instead. if ur having trouble with insomnia take melatonin but no more than ~3mg (any more has proven to be ineffective & possibly slightly detrimental to ur sleep schedule)
Pretty old anthology but if you can find this one, get a copy. Some fucking classics and some interesting choices. Stories from Poe, Hemingway, Joyce, Katherine Porter, Faulkner, and way more
