finished this book in one sitting- truly disturbing on so many levels. simply could not put it down after finishing the first chapter harrowing & at the same time completely neurotic and surreal
I bought it when I was visiting my little brother in Paris and it was really crazy. When you start reading it you think he's just trying to be extreme for the sake of it, of disgusting you for no reason but to provoke a reaction. Then after a while you get into it and it becomes beautifully poetic and it feels pure.
iāve been really trying to read the classics this year! a short classic that can easily be done in one sitting is āthe strangerā, it was profound for its time and is only 144 pages long. i actually havenāt finished it in one sitting yet to be honest, but i'm trying to get back into reading so i havenāt found the proper time to give it my full attentionā¦ but im sure someone else totally could! iām just not quite there yetā¦
