Itās one of those small inexpensive changes with big impact. I know it gives 1950s housewife but hear me out. Pros:
- you can use the hottest possible water
- keeps you from getting premature hand wrinkles
- The lack of sensory input to your hands (water, soap, sponge, gross wet food) allows you to energetically and emotionally separate yourself from the task while you daydream, listen to a podcast, or watch something on a nearby screen.
- after youāre done you take them off and itās like you were never even there. The only evidence is a pile of clean dishes.
- the threshold for how many dishes you can stand to do increases exponentially, you feel unstoppable. Maybe you shouldnāt take the gloves off yet, maybe you can also wipe down the countersā¦maybe also take out the garbageā¦unclog the shower drain. Before you know it youāve deep cleaned your home. your hands remain obliviously soft and dry. Cons:
- they tear sometimes and you gotta replace them I get the extra long ones so water for sure doesnāt get inside
Iāve been using scrubby gloves on every inch of my body for last 25 years, ever since independent curator Astria Supark said ātheyāre really good for getting into all the nooks and crannies.ā For only a few bucks you can be completely smooth and polished at all times. Before taking them off I like to say, āHey everybody, itās me, Mickey Mouse!ā in a special mouse voice, which some people thought was funny the first few times. (Because Mickey Mouse also wears gloves.)
Donāt let the doctors and intermittent fasters tell you otherwise. Food is energy and it makes you strong and helps you concentrate and be happy. Donāt let that blood sugar dip down. Hold the line.
I buy government I-bonds. The official government website is a bit clunky, but not terribly complicated. You donāt have to pay state income tax on the interest.
I have one of those microwave popcorn poppers and buy stupid seasonings to put on my corn. Trader Joeās ranch seasoning is my latest go-to flavor. I like the tang. Nutritional yeast is a staple topping. Zaāatar too. Anything truffle-y if you wanna get fancy. TJās mushroom seasoning blend is mostly just salt though: an anti-recommend on that one
