â making a cup of tea in your favourite mug and appreciating the small things! â watching the same youtuber each week (purple palace) and eating the same meal each time (japanese hamburger bento box) the tiny celebrations and self-made traditions make your everyday life magical :-)
hiii i have also been in this position many times before and on instinct i would try to fill my days with lots of meaningless actions to fill that void-like feeling. i've found that doing everyday mundane tasks with my whole being has brought a lot of joy back into my life. i think a lot of us go through the motions of our everyday routines without giving our tasks much thought, intention/attention and it feels really nice to flip the script and pay attention deeply. something as simple as a morning cup or coffee or tea can become a ritual - taking ur time with each sip, really really tasting it, paying attention to ur breath + filling into your body in that moment. if you meet each task with the intention to really b there the whole time you'll find that joy is in the ordinary moments. one of my favorite authors thich nhat hanh once said, " you make yourself available to life and life becomes available to you."
Itâs not about copying his exact routine.
You donât have to clean public toilets or listen to cassette tapes. Thatâs not the point. The point is to find your own routine â something simple that actually feels good to you. Even if it seems weird or âunproductiveâ
And just repeat it for a week or longer, if you want This isnât about being boring, itâs about having something small and grounding in your day. Something that keeps you present.
Maybe itâs a glass of chia water in the morning and a walk to the store. Maybe itâs making the same breakfast every day, or putting your phone away. Whatever it is â if it makes you feel alive, itâs worth it. Iâve been living like this for more than a month now, just showing up for my own life (saying no to sugar also helps with that, ILL WRITE ABOUT THIS IN MY NEXT REC). And honestly, itâs the thing that makes you feel like YOU CAN SURVIVE TODAY AND TOMORROW AND ANY OTHER DAY just because you have something familiar in your day â YOUR ROUTINE! When youâre doing these small things alone: no distractions, no noise â something shifts. You start to feel more in tune with yourself.
Youâre not driven by fear, or wants, or ambition (like you usually do). Youâre just there.
And in that moment, you finally get the time to just think about yourself, your life !with no pressure!
And that changes everything
SO TRY THIS!!
sounds to me like you donât really want a routineâŚmaybe your challenge could be making your peace with that!? if you do want to give it a try, try thinking of rituals instead of routines. pick something to make sacred through intentionâbathing, having a cup of tea, a morning walk or meditation or prayer or smth. focus on discovering the magic that can be found within an everyday moment when we pay attention to it.
instead of doing it under the influence we should start saying it casually on the daily on a random weekday afternoon⌠this is the way please believe me!
possibly one of the cooler and chic- er things i own⌠i love the look of it sooo much, it makes the cds in my collection a piece of art in itself, proudly displayed when itâs not spinning !
