I’ve never been to a sensory deprivation tank so I just recreate the spirit of it this way. I usually have the shower run to let the bath fill up for some nice ambient noise. A bath is truly the washing machine of the soul
The bathing experience is immediately enhanced by being alone at home (any time pressure whatsoever is disruptive) and adding any or all of the following elements:
- lavender bubble bath or bath oil
- epsom salts
- laptop on laundry basket playing a reality show (mid-low volume)
- lit candle or oil heater thingie
- book
- podcast playing from phone (but do not disturb on)
I’ve been spending more time on self-care and recently discovered the luxury of taking a hot bath.
It’s fantastic. I love turning my little bathroom into a spa. Lighting up some candles, and really committing to relaxation.
genuinely believe journaling has saved my mental health but doing it in public alone is such a better alternative to going on your phone and also if you have a pretty notebook it's a great conversation starter
if you expect everything you make to be a masterpiece you’ll never get started on anything….let yourself make “bad” stuff in order to get to the “good” stuff
