I’ve lived here in London twice, so when I am visiting like this week, I always try to take in a Fulham match while I’m in town (they are my team, mediocre as their history is). Tonight’s match was a crappy 0-0 draw with an Everton team that will likely be relegated by season’s end but I don’t care, Craven Cottage is a charming old grounds (oldest in London) and it just makes me happy to hang here for a night watching footy, singing goofy FFC chants and having a beer 🍺 with a mate. You don’t have to win trophies 🏆 to be worthy of love. ❤️
This was my first football match and I went solo because none of my friends watch football. It was so exhilaring! A cauldron of testosterone! i don’t support Leicester or Crystal Palace but as a neutral it was truly fascinating observing this wonderful thing we call the beautiful game. something kinda old school about seeing families with their kids eating pies and singing football chants.
more often than not you anticipate they will either draw or lose so when they do you’re not terribly disappointed. when they do win, it‘s a nice surprise. watching their games can be frustrating but they do tend to be super dramatic. it’s a W-W-D situation.

"Sad songs about happy things" (the first time, as a kid, I can recall the sweet/sour combo of melodies that could make you cry attached to songs about endless, bottomless love)
I've long since lost track of how many weddings and funerals I've attended that have featured this song; suffice it to say, "a lot."
God only knows what we'd been without him 🙏🏻
Hey tyler hopefully this doesn’t violate some PI.FYI golden rule
But after nearly two years of writing, editing and arguing, my book about the EP is coming out in May and can be preordered here: https://hozacrecords.com/product/aifl/ The book is about the origins, history and cultural impact of the EP since these little objects first started coming out in the 50s.
Over 50 of my music biz friends then helped me shape the list and review the top 200 ever released, according to us (ha).
For those of you who are into this kind of geekery/snobbery, I can’t wait to hear what you think. A labor of love, as all books are! ❤️
