i went over to my neighbors a few weekends ago to watch the lions game and we got to talking about bbq. one of them suggested we try slows in detroit and instead of making those hypothetica plans i actually followed through and got it on the gcal. we went on a wednesday and had a blast! the bible is always talking about knowing and loving thy neighbor and i understand that now.

chic n cozy $$$$ lil spot on Shattuck! met a new friend for natural wine + small bites on this rainy Friday night and just gabbed our asses off for hours. instant connection! the staff was sweet, the food was yummy, and iām not even mad that i spent a disgusting amount of money to still be hungies.ā¦ it was worth it. next time tho? iām getting the damn snails

my roommates and i got so many single serve hot chocolate packets for christmas and we wanted to get rid of them. each of us made a packet and then poured them into shot glasses and guessed which it was. it was super fun and great way for them to not go to waste!

tuesday afternoon, my family got some really traumatic news. i was supposed to take the train back to school but my mom wanted us to all drive (mind you it was 3pm and it's a 4 hour drive). we spent the car ride telling each other how much we love each other, starting arbitrary conversation to distract ourselves, sobbing, and laughing. we went out to dinner, my parents dropped me off and they spent another 4 hours driving home in the middle of the night. i called my dad the next day and he said it was his favorite drive to ann arbor that he's ever done. it was such a pure expression of full emotion and as painful as it was, it was also incredibly beautiful to connect like that.
