u aint been to indiana till you've had a hoosier pork tendy (maybe u dont even wanna go to indiana, which is understandable, but if you do, find the most podunk tavern u can, and order urself a tendy). the pork to bun ratio is important, see photo for example. Check @hoosiertendies on IG for more glorious sammys
110 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46204this Panera is ok. I went here once and had a good time it was near the court so i think it was a place for people to think about their upcoming murder trial. to be honset some of the people eating inside the dining area seem like paid actors. like crisis actors, but for being patrons of a restaurant. I had the same vibe. i like Indianapolis and can see it being the center of a Post United States midwest empire, almost like a neutral zone between Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois like a Central Indiana version of Vatican City.
i’ve been spending as much time as possible in my small midwestern hometown.
Reconnecting with my inner teenager and fully believing I am still 17 has been real fun. Fort Wayne is pretty cute. Go get the pickle pizza at Penny Drip!
OK so it's not an Italian Beef per se because of the bread, but mighty tasty with spicy giardiniera (notably imported from Chicago, noted the menu), crinkle-cut fries (by far my favorite fry shape but not so common in LA), and a side of jus (that was not on the menu but when I asked if they served it "dipped" or "juicy" they very graciously brought a side of it) that overall made one heck of a sammich! 8/10 Yum

Dude walked e-v-e-r-y street in NYC over the course of years. Did little increments each day. Wrote about all sorts of random things relating to the city as he went along. There's a great segment about his obsession with barbershops/salons incorporating the letter "z" into the name of their shop eg Royal Cutz VIP
