is such an underrated auteur. his movies are like lived-in museum exhibits to me. i hope we'll get at least one more feature film from him this decade.
One of the greatest, if not, the greatest cinematographer of all time. Known best for his frequent collaborations with Wim Wenders and Jim Jarmusch, Müller's DP work lifts their work from greatness to profoundness. Every frame of film that he captured could be its own piece of framed art. I also highly recommend checking out his photo work at the Robby Müller Archive. A lot of it captures the way that memory feels.
rewatched these recently and they’re so great. Touching and funny and really striking sets/shots. Reminded me of how good Wes Anderson is beyond all the memes. I know people clown on some of his tendencies as a director but the guy knows how to make a fuckin movie.
i spent the beginning of this week watching stand by me, running on empty and my own private idaho and river truly was one of the most special humans to ever exist. i just really think everyone should watch his body of work and talk about him more.
