a friend of mine once told me this and it stuck with me like wax. trying to keep this in mind and proceed with caution but that can be tough at times.

There’s two phrases I live by: 1. “Prepare for the worst, hope for the best” it’s something my father has said to me ever since I can remember anything at all. He says we must always be aware of the possibility of error and be prepared for it however we should never stop believing in the possibility of success and always stay hopeful! 2. “this too shall pass” it’s just a good way of remembering that what now can seem like the end of the world will end up feeling just like a medium sized problem in a few months and eventually it will feel like nothing in a few years. All problems are valid problems however you must remember that time can heal all wounds.

going through some similar motions and this measely tiktok comment unironically did like +1000 healing to my psyche. really, the key is to remember you can only do so much at once. overexerting yourself will make you too tired to consume the fruits of your labor. they will rot and/or you will not enjoy them this way. find happiness in the little, fleeting moments you’re able to foster for yourself and bite off only what you can chew. besides, you want to make sure not to do things in haste. you want a solid foundation for future you and your contentment and don’t want to find any cracks in it later down the line…

My friends and I started saying this so much as a bit in high school that it actually became a very powerful mantra for all of us. It’s a good reminder that there will be better days ahead when things are tough, and to appreciate life when things are going well.

having serveral hobbies & simply bc they're fun and make you happy instead of hyperfixating so you know every detail to keep in ur back pocket to feel a sense of reassurance about how much you've invested in them (ive fallen victim to this). you're allowed to enjoy something with minimal knowledge on it. with time you'll realize you've accumulated so much personalized information. deets that correlate to you. thats what make your hobbies special and gratifying like they were intended to be. continue to explore and learn!
