My favorite part: Dear Abby:
My father is a businessman who travels.
Each time he returns from one of his trips,
his shoes and trousers
                   are covered with blood-
but he never forgets to bring me a nice present;
Should I say something?

One of my all time favorite books and I would sell my kidneys to read it for the first time. âDo you think anything else under heaven really matters? And how long, at the best, can it last? since you are both men and still have everywhere to go? Only five minutes, I assure you, only five minutes, and most of that, hĂŠlas! in the dark. And if you think of them as dirty, then they will be dirtyâthey will be dirty because you will be giving nothing, you will be despising your flesh and his. But you can make your time together anything but dirty; you can give each other something which will make both of you betterâforeverâif you will not be ashamed, if you will only not play it safe.â He paused, watching me, and then looked down to his cognac. âYou play it safe long enough,â he said, in a different tone, âand youâll end up trapped in your own dirty body, forever and forever and foreverâlike me.â I cried for 2 days straight after reading this.. TWO DAYS!! My favorite excerpt from the entire book. James Baldwin is a genius and may his heavenly soul rest in peace.
A short one that found me just over 2 years ago now and I think of often. The conversations between characters is what I appreciated the most. When I think of it, I remember it more as a film because of how clearly I could see it all unfolding. Like I was there in each room, not just an observer.
Find a coffee creamer you really love, or a breakfast that was your favorite when you were a kid, read a rly good book or article youâve been excited abt for ten min when you wake up instead of social media, lay out a cute outfit the night before, plan what perfume & jewelry youâll wear if youâre into that
