For a pro singer in that era, his voice isn't amazing, so it's schmeared with tape doubling & room verb, but he had the absolute best arrangements. Ass shakers abound - "Lollipop" is incredible, & it's no wonder Daft Punk lifted "Cola Bottle Baby" when Sony gave them carte blanche to the corporate back catalogue.
it is as good as a pop song gets. no second is wasted - the thing that i think makes it truly perfect though is that each part is so compelling on its own (genuinely listen to the stems of this, they're unbelievably fun) and yet they all form a greater whole. also you just have some of the best session players giving it their all
