Wood's label has put out some great indie rock from a some of my favorite artists over the last handful of years – Anna St. Louis, Bonny Doon, John Andrews & The Yawns, early Kurt Vile, Kevin Morby, White Fence, and has, in turn, been responsible for a bunch of my favorite concerts both pre and post-pandemic shutdown. The Bonny Doon dudes are real nice. I linked a recent set of theirs, my favorite bootleg I've come across on YouTube. I've seen them 5 times now and chatted with them after their last set in Philly.
Woodsist' yearly two-day festival in Accord, NY in 2021 was my first festival coming out of lockdown and was the perfect, laid-back event I was missing. That year I saw Sessa, Cassandra Jenkins, Anna St. Louis, 75 Dollar Bill, Natural Information Society, Woods, Kurt Vile (solo), Kevin Morby, Parquet Courts, and Yo La Tengo – just unreal and so well-curated.
