Itβs way better than what you can buy in shops, and you can make tons to eat with every single bite of fish. - mayo (I assume yogurt is ok too for healthy ppl but I am lactose intolerant)
- finely diced raw onion, can be white or red or shallots
- chopped capers (not traditional but they add to the overall sourness/vinegar-ness)
- lots of chopped fresh dill and/or parsley
- fresh lemon juice
- finely diced pickles
- salt and pepper Some people put boiled eggs in tartar sauce but I think that is too much effort for what should be a quick dip. Measure with your heart and enjoy!
Another one from me- a portion of pasta, a tin of tuna, some mayonnaise (I like kewpie), optionally some sweetcorn and plenty of salt and pepper. So simple but surprisingly really good.
I do not need a new wardrobe, packing cubes, new toiletry bag, etc. I have everything I need. Reminding myself of this in the heat of the moment feels like coming down from a frenzy I never wanted to have in the first place.
Prosciutto, salami, etc. started in a cold pan and left to crisp and render their fat. They shrink up and become crispy and delicate and cheek-puckering in their salinity. Highly recommend accompanying with toasted bread and an over easy egg fried in the oils in the pan.
