I’ve been playing Solitaire since Microsoft 95 days and can occasionally finish a game in 40 seconds. Is this a great achievement? no idea but I can’t not be light speed amazing at this one game, judge me all you like! Every five levels the app gives you a silly solitaire related nick name, and if you pay $10 it gets rid of the ads for those traumatizing weird games where a cartoon woman gets covered in mud and her husband wants a divorce all in the same moment and you find yourself yelling at your phone, ‘honey, are you in danger? Wtf is going on, do you need help??’

its always great. my app of choice is flick solitaire, but any will do. im not compelled to open the app in the way i have been with other mobile games. there are no levels to beat. nothing changes the more you play. just the same game with the same cards shuffled over and over. i only find myself playing it if im in the waiting room for a doctors appointment or i am taking a particularly long shit. i hope you are well, friend.

Sorry to be the most boring person on the earth but I just love solitaire. Klondike. Spider. Split screen with a video at the top and solitaire below is just 💋🤌 (yes I am ADD diagnosed) / Editing to add this insanely relevant subwayhands post from 5 hrs after my rec. It's like the universe is recommending solitaire too.

Fun for me is always classic mobile puzzle games. I have searched far and wide for a good solitaire app after my go-to one introduced a subscription service... in my solitaire game. sometime in the last few months I finally found one, just called Solitaire developed by Still57. no weird gimmicks restraining how much you can play or anything like that. Same for nonograms/picross, most apps tend to have a three lives then out gimmick, or something or other, and waaay too many ads. Nonograms CrossMe developed by Dynamix Software is simple and straight forward, just the puzzles. They also have a pretty good sudoku app, another genre of game that's mostly filled with gimmicks and ads. again, their app is perfectly basic. Any Flow game is a good game. I've been making my way trying to 100% them, so far I've done the original and Hexes.

You can borrow audiobooks on this app through your library card. Useful for all those socially conscious non-fiction books you see quoted and have been meaning to read. Also great for celebrity memoirs and long dead writers who recorded their own audio (C.S Lewis had such a lovely voice). For whatever reason I can’t pay attention to fiction audiobooks but maybe that’s just me.

If you’re an aspiring screenwriter I highly recommend doing a film challenge. It‘s fun and takes you out of ‘I haven’t written today, I don’t know how to write!’ anxiety brain and reminds you that you like movies for actual deep and personally fascinating reasons. It also is a great way to show you what your film taste is as you’ll see links in the films you pick each day. I attached a pic of one I made if you want to do it :)
