This read on deep sea diving is fascinating. They breathe helium so they spend weeks sounding like theyโ€˜re cracking jokes at a birthday party and they are more remote down there than astronauts on the moon!

Also remembered a Nat Geo video that documented a research station on the ocean floor and it talked about the helium mix. It had audio clips of people speaking and mentioned that it fucked with everyone's sense of taste while eating.

Deep-sea expeditions from Ocean Exploration Trust It's not only fascinating to see ocean floor footage in HD but also listening to the marine scientists going absolutely crazy when they find something is priceless. Those people are SERIOUSLY into deep-sea creatures. Such passion!
