in an age where social interaction through merely every outlet is intentional, there is nothing more fun than orchestrating a curated social event where the hype around it transforms into something more! last night my friend was talking to me about planning his next birthday around the theme of mario because his birthday falls onto march 10th (or mario day)! and it was the most fun i had in a while spitballing theming for games, foods, drinks, decor, etc…! the creative collaboration of it leading up to a certain date. although something so small in reality it makes it seem like a modern day ball in my head! gives me something to look forward to :) plan a party!!!

Intimate birthday parties

Last night went exactly as planned. About 70-80ish people in one space together, dancing enjoying the sounds from the Dj’s and each others company. Love was in the air. Ethan and I spun our best set yet (I think) and we even paused at 12:00am to wish Adam a Happy birthday - he was anxious about the attention at first but he quickly overcame and began to smile as we all sang to him. We made our way to Winnie’s around 2:15 and did exactly as I said - Stella Artois, vodka cran and I think someon had a modelo(?) we sang Take it or Leave it by the strokes and closed the night out with Radioheads Creep (duh!) Celebrate with your friends any chance you get, celebrate life, celebrate promotions, celebrate love.

party in the usa

i had a party in my fairly small studio apartment and despite the chaos, it felt very intimate to me. not in a weird way. in a a holy way i think, and there are sparse remnants of sanctity among the modestly nihilistic gen z revelers, so to speak. so it was like church and it was special.
