Big group (at least 12) of losers wanna be in nature. We all went semi-upstate (Wurtsboro) and stayed in a refurbished barn from Airbnb. Where’s a good location near woods and/or water that we could drive to (or is accessible via commuter rail)?

connected to NYC by a solid train system and also very lush and full of nature. spent a lot of time escaping the city all over that region but knew folks who commuted into the city from there. def more affordable the further out you go, and there’s a good selection of smaller cities and quaint little towns to choose from.

💯 echo the north woods of CP, Riverside, and Inwood- and also being near the water during summer mornings and evenings, whether that’s the lawns at Chelsea Piers or the south section of Domino Park; and then, both the Bronx and BK botanic gardens consistently re-charge me during the winter/spring flux time (especially given how huge the BX grounds are). Obvi paying to go isn’t ideal, but both have some good discounted or pay what you want options for NYers that are worth looking into! 🌳

You can absolutely feel like you’re getting lost in the North Woods of Central Park. There are little hiking paths and streams, boulders, and fewer people than the touristy southern parts of the park. A nice bonus is when you come out on the northeastern side you can peer over Harlem Meer and likely see some ducks! Hon. mention to Riverside Park (seconding the person who said that), Inwood Hill Park, and Fort Tryon Park (and the Cloisters!)

When you don’t necessarily intend to. Like the plan is dinner and you don’t think about after. But then it’s just fun to keep hanging

Seeing it waaaaay more in Internet Land lately and it’s just gross. Feeling like I’m back in middle school with how carelessly it’s thrown around. Not only is it offensive, but there are so many other words you can use that fit better. If you have been saying or typing it lately, ask yourself why. If you’ve been typing it but not saying it, you already know you’re being stupid.
