going solo on your birthday

my partner is overseas so i’m embracing spending my birthday alone today and indulging in little luxuries i.e. morning walk to grab my fave iced latte, making a fancy breakfast, getting dressed nice just for me, maybe taking myself out to dinner later. happy birthday to me!

for the last few years I’ve booked off work for my birthday and treated myself to a me day. this consists of scheduling a massage or facial (truly the best), splurging on a nice lunch and dessert, and sometimes a movie!

treat yourself or level up your usual spa or beauty treatments! I usually pay for myself to get an especially nice haircut on my birthday each year.

Hotel room to yourself

Put on the robe, turn on adult swim or whatever, crank the ac, eat a late night snack in one bed and sleep in the other. The freedom of impersonal liminal space.
