a mostly comedic series of short stories and essays about the authors bizarre childhood/early adulthood. “Dinah the Christmas whore” is a real stand out and should be a traditional holiday classic Read-aloud
These short stories made me feel naked and uncomfortable and also made me laugh, like guffaw level laugh a couple times. If you ever feel absurd and lost especially in a city social scene or in your family or in your dating life here is a book for all of the above. Also has the original short story that Secretary is very loosely based on (definitely a different story and much darker tone).
absolutely hilarious and harrowing. the months of obsession with upping his step count was particularly amusing. very gifted storyteller ❤️ I love u David Sedaris
