๐ This book reminded me of the incredible ways writers play with and manipulate words. There were times I was brought to a stop by the way a sentence or two had unfolded. Mesmerizing, deliberate character development too. Highly rec!
others I read last week:
- the seep by chana porter
- two books from the throne of glass series by sarah j. maas
- jazz by toni morrison
Auto-fiction in the au courant/Rachel Cusk bent about a female writer in her 50s. Beautifully written and just brimming with wit. I donโt have her gifts so I canโt begin to do it justice, but just read it.
Didnโt actually realize this was the third in a trilogy (a repeat mistake for this guy). Felt even more atmospheric not having the context of the first two.
nicest thing iโve read in a long time! a grandmother and grandchild island slice of life in the purest, most wholesome, genuine story. recommend to anyone who wants to feel good.
