Iām determined to use my phone about 90% less in the new year. Iāve replaced IG with Pi.Fyi & now Iām using an ipod for all of my music!!! Thereās something so sacred about the process of curating the music that actually takes so much time. You have to buy or download the music (which, buying on itunes has felt like a supportive option for the musicians I admire. $10 bucks for one of my favorite albums. down.) Then you drag it onto your ipod. Watch the āSynchronizingā wheel on your ipod. Eject the Ipod. Go to Cover Flow to see your albums lined up. Itās amazing, and it requires effort and time. Versus on spotify, you just press the plus button and pay the monthly 9.99. Its so wild. What music do I actually like/need to get through my days? Iāve let the machine of algorithms and apps decide. I literally was stumped trying to think of what music I HAD to have. I want my life to feel more intentional in every way. I want to be extremely present. But, that can feel like so much pressure and overwhelming. This is such a fun refreshing start. GO GET ONE!!! šµš¶š§
This is specifically for NYC people. In Ridgewood Queens there is a hole in the wall high quality chocolate shop. Itās run by an eccentric and amazing man named Constantine and his wife. He will talk your ear off for a half an hour about āthe benefitsā of chocolate and how itās a panacea for pretty much everything. How big chocolate gives away most of the cocoa butter to the cosmetic industry. Heāll also talk to you about how he asks ChatGPT about chocolate and itās wrong a lot of the time. Youāll then buy a bar even though itās small and $10. But you will go home and have a little piece after dinner and never taste chocolate the same way againā¦
If we click on a rec or ask to comment, like I'm doing now, it would be great that when I go back, it doesn't send me back to the top of the page but rather to the place where I was scrolling previously.
