I was not raised the most financially literate however Iāve gotten very enthusiastic about personal budgeting apps and YNAB is fantastic for this the goal is to assign a dollar a job until you have 0 budget, it also connects directly to your bank account (most of them) and categorizes your purchases for you. I had no idea how much I spend on dining out and drinking out and it is⦠humbling to see the writing on the wall and do this at home. also makes it so easy to budget for retirement or investments or long term savjng
This is my most important app. Completely changed the way I viewed money and the feeling of control I have over it. Helped me kill my student loan debt. Imperfect but essential. Hard to sell people on. āYes, you have to answer for everything manuallyā
imhellastupid it depends, it is cheaper to do it annually up front vs monthly but if youāre uneasy about committing that much thereās no risk trying it for a month
you can trial it for a month too i think. the Way I see it is eventually saving the money thru YNAB lets you pay for it
A bit of a learning curve but has really helped me change how I think about budgeting + money (in a non judgmental way). love apps that donāt sell your data!
Iāve cooked more meals at home this past month than 2020-2023. And YNAB helps me be less stressed about getting ahead of bills/debt and saving for things
Very simple. Put in your income and expenses. It shows what you have left. Then you choose what you want to save and log your purchases. Useful for me for a couple years. Now I just use a spreadsheet and go off vibes.
