A bit of a learning curve but has really helped me change how I think about budgeting + money (in a non judgmental way). love apps that don’t sell your data!
taysol they have a month long free trial you can access without sharing any credit card info! It’s a bit intimidating at first but I recommend following a YouTube guide on setting up a budget in YNAB—now it’s very second nature to me!
I was not raised the most financially literate however I’ve gotten very enthusiastic about personal budgeting apps and YNAB is fantastic for this the goal is to assign a dollar a job until you have 0 budget, it also connects directly to your bank account (most of them) and categorizes your purchases for you. I had no idea how much I spend on dining out and drinking out and it is… humbling to see the writing on the wall and do this at home. also makes it so easy to budget for retirement or investments or long term savjng
I’ve cooked more meals at home this past month than 2020-2023. And YNAB helps me be less stressed about getting ahead of bills/debt and saving for things
the first 1/5 of the book I found the protagonist so frustratingly pathetic, but by the time I finished I felt like haruki murakami had written the book specifically for me
