somehow i went 21 years without utilizing this wonderful herb. so sweet. so yummy. iāve been putting it in everything i make recently: pasta (especially good on gnocchi), eggs, toast, tofu, breakfast sandwiches, potatoes, anything you can think of! and it apparently improves memory! the perfect seasoning!!
my partner and their family got me on using fennel in my mirepoix for soups and itās lifechanging. i love fennel and it adds so much good flavor. such an unsung hero! š
For like 3 years now Iāve been keeping dill, parsley and cilantro in jars in the fridge in water and itās one of the best additions to my life and cooking. just levels up the food to put a little green pizazz on it
if you live anywhere these grow (i know they do in the midwest, probably other spots too!) i highly, highly recommend. theyāre wild onions and theyāre so good in pasta sauce, with eggs, in pesto. i know they can sometimes be over-foraged, so i usually look for them at a co-op.
also iām always an asparagus fan! i used to not care for it but experimenting with different cooking methods really turned me around on it.
