there is only one answer: do you believe in ghosts?
OR (and sometimes better): have you ever seen a ghost/ have you or anyone you know ever had an experience with ghosts? - always bring this one out when introducing friends of mine who have not yet met- forms fast friendships and is weird enough that there is no room to brag. and ghosts don't give a hoot about differences in socioeconomic backgrounds; they will haunt mansion and street alike. also fascinating to find out.

Omg I would kill to know who would give the best answer to this q, much as I think it would lose me so much credibility in a work environment. But sidenote, this did come up the last time I had people over (gf’s friend id never met told us truly insane stories about her clairvoyance and we’re still agog about it weeks later). Such a romp of a question.

Asking people if theyve ever seen a ghost
Either they say no or they have a juicy first/second hand story to share. I’ve had the best results when asking older people because I guess the longer you’ve been alive, the more opportunities there have been to experience the paranormal

HAVE A GO TO QUESTION IN YOUR BACK POCKET
keep it light and whimsical. I was on a date a few years back and the person I was with asked me if I believed in luck, she said it was a question she asked everyone and it sparked an interesting discussion- “do you have good/bad luck” “do you know anyone with particularly bad luck“ etc. other questions that might be fun: -are you a cat or a dog (in essence, not preference) -what’s the furthest from home you’ve been? -ever seen a ghost?

this one's perfect for when you're on vacation or like a night out. when someone tells you where they're from you have to answer "me too!" and then when specifics like school or hangouts or whatever comes up you always say you went there or you've been there. Then start throwing out names, asking if they know people. It's the bit that keeps on giving

for many many reasons: one hilarious franchise, many excellent indie flicks, an ethereal girlfriend, general looks... but MOST NOTABLY in recent days the fact that he somewhat caused the making of Oppenheimer as gave Christopher Nolan a copy of American Prometheus as a wrap gift on Tenet. mentalism.
