Been listening to this a lot lately โ came out earlier this year. Some wonderful folk-y songwriting from Clara Mann. At times reminds me of Vashti Bunyan's work. Her ear for a hook and a heavy lyric is just fantastic.
idk something in me just changed when I listened to it all the way through she sings about anger, gender, physical and emotional pain, love and care, plumbing the depths of sadness and sweetness. the production is so layered and gorgeous (itโs also famously supposed to be the post-rpattz breakup album and I think having that narrative of how scrutinized and criticized she was during and after that relationship deepens my understanding of it, but doesnโt limit it)
