One of my favorite places in the U.S. and boy am I glad to have that in common with Al Capone. It’s an old resort town with natural hot springs that was favored by gangsters during Prohibition. Go now for old school spa treatments and great hiking! Easily my favorite stop on an impromptu road trip from Dallas to Detroit last year (in January, which was a choice!). Didn’t expect to go to many of the southern cities along the way (Louisville, Memphis, Dayton (yes that’s still the south)), but enjoyed Hot Springs the best of any of them.

My grandad lived in Knoxville, TN, so we always used to go visit him and then take a drive over to Chattanooga and spend the day there, mostly at the aquarium. Nashville was a super memorable trip for me, just roaming around not really knowing where to go and stumbling into the Johnny Cash museum (I’d definitely recommend) and a bunch of great restaurant. Would definitely recommend driving around the state during the springtime when it gets a little warmer.

i thought arkansas was one of the most random states (like iowa, tell me one fact about iowa fr). drove to mt ida arkansas for the eclipse though since it was one of the sunniest spots - who knew arkansas was the most gorgeous place ever. they got forests and rocks and gems and minerals and fossils and some of the darkest skies - i saw the mf milky way for the first time guys. i literally cant wait to go back and explore more

one of my favorite quick trips i've ever taken - such a cute downtown (a lot of fun shopping / dining / bars), the architecture is IN. SANE. driving down union ave looking at houses was so fun. there's also a ton in the area that is a fun sub-trip - lake george (way trashier than i thought it would be but in a fun way, the lake itself is so beautiful), i randomly was transfixed by the albany downtown area bc the government buildings feel like evil villain headquarters from the 60s / 70s, ballston spa is cool and has interesting history. AND this whole area is right up against the adirondacks so the hiking is genuinely really good!!

I probably have to pop that cherry today for work and I’m deeply sad since I’ve gotten this far with never once using it, which is the way things should be.
