i'm a teacher so i get to do this more than the average bear but when someone deserves a negative outcome and you provide them with grace, the world becomes more whole.
i have such vivid memories of times that the same form of kindness was granted to me and whew does that just make you believe the world might be okay after all š«¶š»

sometimes people have hidden troubles and they can come off rude, and sometimes theyāre just a snot. either way the cliche ākill them with kindnessā applies here and even if they donāt brighten up, it feels good to know you were the nice person in the interaction.

a light story but i was in a car accident yesterday and i needed to cross the highway to talk to someone who witnessed what happened. this was kinda a hard feat, but specifically i remember one lady in her car just putting her hand out and slowing down to make sure that i could cross safely.
while there are parts of life that make it seem like no one cares about you or certain people far away, with war and domestic/international issues happening to marginalized people, there are still pockets of hope i see with small actions like this.
i think at times itās wise to not dwell so much in the negative that happens, and just work on being satisfied with what you have going on now and the progress thatās been made with others kindness. if you canāt support your own happiness then you will do shyte trying to support othersā
and just to add, i went to catholic school for half of my education, and now i am agnostic. i like to think back at that time that my learning from school influenced me nonetheless to be kind to others unconditionally (unless they turn on me š), and even that i feel like becoming agnostic has made me more understanding. i think some congregations and households reinforce this idea of excluding certain groups from salvation, when in reality youāre reading from a book that was manipulated through language translations, political greed, etc.

read in your local park
patronize your local artists
the way to plant roots is to stay in the same place for as long as possible! you donāt get that by driving out of town for every meal and beverage and thing you want

purging is good and doesnāt need to be followed up by more consumption
