This is such a simple and lovely idea from Ida (@ambivalentkingdom on insta). It excited me so much that I immediately went out and bought the photo pocket binder sleeves.
Great for ephemera collectors, concept development for artists, those who imbue sentimentality into every scrap of paper, people who still feel a twinge of heartbreak thinking about the stuffed animals they gave away as a child, and the Pinterest girlies who manically pin posts but never go back to look at their boards (me).Ā
I think sheās right about our tactile needs.Ā
Reminds me of this quote from an interview with Bill Callahan: āI think physical objects have a memory, and the physicality of things helps our brains to believe that the thing is real and potent.ā

Iāve never felt more activated by nostalgia than while making my little digital collage on Pinterest.
As someone who both destroyed Cosmopolitan magazines to birth physical collages and spent hours collecting photo bucket images for my little microsoft paint digital collages, it was deeply satisfying to put together a bunch of stuff in a single photo.
Is it art? Probably not. Did I certainly create this little piece of something? Yes, and thatās all that matters.

Does anyone else keep memory boxes?
These are old shoe boxes full of keep sakes which could be as silly as receipts from a holiday, letters from old friends, gig tickets, set lists from memorable shows, photos etc
I have quite a few of them now and am aware that if I keep on going like this, Iāll probably have an entire room full of boxes of these objects that possess a sentimental value. But will that be practical?
So I came up with an idea, an archival undertaking of sorts called āDebris Of a Lifeā, where I whittle down my boxes to just one box to rule them all and with the keepsakes that donāt make the cut being scanned and documented via a zine. Iād imagine this could end up being a few volumes worth of material but there is something that has really caught my imagination with this style of scrapbooking being presented in my most favourite of all formats; the zine.
I will post more about this idea as it develops.

Currently have three full pages in my notebook! I guess some might call this a gratitude journal LOL but itās different when I do it.Ā
My brother was telling me about this phenomenon called ātarget fixationā. Itās a panic reflex that happens when motorcyclists become fixated on a singular object, obstacle, hazard (e.g. a sharp curve on a winding road) and they will unconsciously steer in the direction of the thing theyāre trying to avoid because their hands follow their gaze which leads to accidents.Ā
You will follow your gaze so be aware of where youāre looking. Train yourself to seek out pleasure and appreciation! Understanding where + what you derive pleasure from increases your capacity to enjoy things which in turn makes you a more interesting person (imo). I think itās just as important self-knowledge as understanding your triggers/trauma. It is a daily willingness to be transformed by small things.
Sorry for lecturing but I want good things for all of you.

Forgive because this where I get a little ~woo woo~ but I think you should only wear necklaces that are imbued with a potent magical vibeā¦ amulets only near the heart and throat
you can do whatever you want with earrings/rings but heed my warning about necklaces
