Legally my first name is Sophia… but as a child I didn’t really learn phonetics (bc I was impatient and taught Myself how to read lol) So I had no real concept of the ph sound and thought it was dumb. So I said no I am not sopuhee, I am Sofe. And it stuck. Plus I think Sofe Cote has a good ring to it… my mother wanted to make me Anya. If I had to name me from the start, I would say maybe Dido. If I was a boy, Roland.
My nickname fits me more, Kait is far better for my personality than Kaitlyn. I was supposed to be Zoe, short for Zosephine, but my grandma protested… initially. Then she cooled off so that’s my sisters name. Such a more unique and interesting one imo
I feel like my mum named a baby and didn’t really think about me being an adult
I spelt my name differently for a whole year of school because someone else had the same name as me
I love names that you can nickname but mine can’t be
A master at writing genre fiction as literary fiction. Multiple narratives, stellar characters, a time-hopping, pre- and post-apocalyptic plot, and a killer miniseries adaptation to watch once you’re finished
I only saw her perform twice, but I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else live more than once (though I obviously would like to see a lot of them live again). At least I can say one of the times I saw her was her very first US performance 🥹💔
