Corollary to this: loud concerts perform the same service. Stare at the stage until you don't see it anymore, focus on the music until you don't hear it anymore, and disappear into yourself until you are all alone in the crowd. Works better the closer you are to the stage. Eliminate mediation and drink directly from the firehose
Knowing their species name makes them feel like part of your community instead of just green-brown blobs. Your walks feel so much richer and more full of life. You might even start saying hello when you pass by :-)
