Something my mom would always tell me. If your paycheck allows, make it work! I’m a Capricorn so you know I love budgeting and have $30 set aside for my monthly floral needs. Unfortunately I don’t make boutique bouquet money as a teacher but assembling grocery store flowers is enough to satisfy me :) Sure they don’t last long but the flicker of joy you feel every time you look at them is priceless baby! Fake flowers are spiritually bereft and exude an evil energy and should be avoided at all costs.

In my older years (late 20s) I’ve come to appreciate the simplicity and vibrancy of flowers in the home. I used to not like flowers because of their short life span and thought it was a waste of money, but supporting local florists and making my home more aesthetically pleasing has been a form of self care and joy. Now I grab a random assortment have my friends and I make bouquets as an activity !

I used to be a bit of a “flowers are a waste of money, they’ll just die” person. But now Im shocked at how much joy they bring me. I’ve had an awful week and then living overseas from my family is made harder around holidays. So I marched myself to the flower market in my neighborhood and got some for myself. I smile to myself every time I see them and I think that’s well worth the money in a hard time

Some might say this is a frivolous spend, but frankly nothing has made me feel more elegant and internally beautiful. I feel so good about myself while cutting the stems nightly and refreshing the vases with fresh water.

Currently have three full pages in my notebook! I guess some might call this a gratitude journal LOL but it’s different when I do it.  My brother was telling me about this phenomenon called “target fixation”. It’s a panic reflex that happens when motorcyclists become fixated on a singular object, obstacle, hazard (e.g. a sharp curve on a winding road) and they will unconsciously steer in the direction of the thing they’re trying to avoid because their hands follow their gaze which leads to accidents.  You will follow your gaze so be aware of where you’re looking. Train yourself to seek out pleasure and appreciation! Understanding where + what you derive pleasure from increases your capacity to enjoy things which in turn makes you a more interesting person (imo). I think it’s just as important self-knowledge as understanding your triggers/trauma. It is a daily willingness to be transformed by small things. Sorry for lecturing but I want good things for all of you. Xoxo, meg

Forgive because this where I get a little ~woo woo~ but I think you should only wear necklaces that are imbued with a potent magical vibe… amulets only near the heart and throat you can do whatever you want with earrings/rings but heed my warning about necklaces
