both punk and pop music have a sense of simple immediacy as their core tenets, and i donāt know if thereās a better example than the ramones of a band embracing that tenet from both ends of the spectrum. this is music for people who turn up their noses at the idea of delayed gratification. the ramones are a band for the glue-sniffing, soda jerking juvenile delinquent inside us all. i donāt think anything else has ever sounded this fun.
