take the scenic windy road with some waterfalls to a small college town with all the trappings (good local coffeeshops, wine bar, beer) Also if its nice outside, grab a bite on the Cheyenne Crossing porch — feels like a local Dakota style Cracker Barrel
They have the biggest antique mall I’ve ever witnessed, and a bakery down the street with the best peach scones I’ve ever tasted. My mom and I’s number one day trip destination.
Would be so peaceful. Go hiking, swimming, canoeing, make campfires. Having some colder weather wouldn’t be terrible either. Get to see the changing leaves and foliage. Take the wood paneled station wagon into town when I want.
