They have the biggest antique mall I’ve ever witnessed, and a bakery down the street with the best peach scones I’ve ever tasted. My mom and I’s number one day trip destination.
take the scenic windy road with some waterfalls to a small college town with all the trappings (good local coffeeshops, wine bar, beer) Also if its nice outside, grab a bite on the Cheyenne Crossing porch — feels like a local Dakota style Cracker Barrel
i spent my summer in butte, montana, commonly referred to as the armpit of montana, but i beg to differ. the culture there is one of humility and community. everyone is who they are and they like that you are who you are. the bars are plenty full and the mountains shine down on the city like welcoming arms going in for a hug. yes there is a toxic pit, yes it’s pretty small. the people are gritty and know how to get through tough times, and would love to share a little slice of life with you. cheers to butte.
i’ve spent a good amount of time in the white mountains over the years but somehow never went here very pretty and historic place with shops + places to have a drink on the river
I specifically made plans this year to be alone on my actual birthday. And it’s been so nice. The best in years, no tears! I got up early to walk around a wildflower garden, tried a new coffee shop. Read a lot. Thrifted. Sushi for dinner and a peach crepe for dessert. The only thing missing was that I never went and celebrated with my favorite paintings at the museum but I’ll have a belated party with them later. Happy birthday to me.
