This is a fantastic movie
All the discourse surrounding it is exhausting it’s a fictional movie about war photographers and the tragedies of war and it is not a warning or “this will actually happen if we don’t fix things” movie
Kirsten Dunst is obviously great but Cailee Spaeny is the standout for me she is just so fucking good (can’t wait for alien Romulus that is going to be so cool)
The soundtrack is insane and songs play over the most harrowing shit you’ve ever seen that you would never think to put over those scenes but it works so so well
See it in imax if you can the gunfire is deafening and shocking and it is a great looking movie too (the incorporation of the photography throughout is incredible)
Anyone from DC or the surrounding area will be weirded out or at least I was seeing insane combat in the streets of dc and in the White House/lincoln memorial/Washington monument but it made it even more impactful for me
Managed to see a screening of this masterpiece in 4k + surround sound, safe to say for my first watch it was biblical.
The entire cinema was sobbing at the messages from home scene
youre always gonna make the manhattans and the margaritas but one thing i love about working at a bar is the level of experimentation i can do. figure out new cocktail recipes, mess around w bitters, create new takes on classic drinks!
