What more can you ask for in a titty shakin good time than this super good spirited DJ with a banging collection of weird and fun knockouts. The party is called The Go-Go Muck and it rules. “AGGRO OLDIES FOR THE MATURITY STUNTED! Soul stompers, garage pounders, greazy r&b, honkin’ instros, crazy calypsos, kookie limbos, manic mambos, fucked up freakbeat, dink music, fink music, monk music, junk music, soaking wet reverb, biker fuzzzzz, screaming organs, stupid drums, wailing saxes, shakin’ maracas, blaring horns and anything Diddley-fied!”

a world tour of obscure-ish disco and funk music best enjoyed if you love dancing to infectious melodies, vibing to funky basslines and occasionally feeling like you're a international super spy

If it was played in a club during the late 60s and 70s, thats the only stamp of approval I need. A truly magnificent genre. Not necessarily slept on, but should be brought back to the clubbing scene (if in DC or NY area and aware of spaces that are genius enough to include this on their playlists, please leave recs below!) Currently on repeat: Doctor's Order by Carol Douglas Linked: A clip of Charlotte York from SATC dancing to this song in a club on Staten Island. These are the vibes, people; this is what we need to bring back.

Absurd and beautiful. I book about life, it’s trials, and ultimate contentment in just tending your “garden”- taking care of what is around you.

So sweet and spicy, though sugar free. It feels like sipping dusky daydreams. The best golden hour beverage.

Levin is one of my favorite contemporary authors, and I think Bubblegum is a masterpiece. It is the fictional memoir of Belt Magnet (a neurotic man child who can speak to inanimate objects) about living in an alternate world where the internet was never invented. It’s lowbrow, it’s highbrow, it’s sad, it’s funny, and it made me rethink my general distaste for contemporary literature. -Jack
