Languages are my weak-spot. I find them very difficult to learn and don’t enjoy learning them but I realllyyyy wish I could. maybe now I’ve learnt how to play chess a language will be my next “thing I’m bad at” to do? i would like to learn sight language but that’s really hard to do without an in person teacher, so maybe I’ll learn Spanish
tryna become a linguist is hard but a fulfilling task currently studying: latin, asl, and spanish (even though i studied spanish in high school, im not that confident speaking 🫤)
There’s just something about that scratches an itch I can’t rightly describe. Learning languages feels good and opens so many doors, it activates a part of my brain that I don’t think I’ve used enough. This year I’m trying to get back on the habit of learning Mandarin (which I studied for eight years, yet still feel woefully inadequate speaking), Yiddish (which I spent one year learning, but have since lapsed), and/or French (which I’ve never tried to learn, but there’s a first for everything!)
