I don't touch spotify as much these days, their discovery algo just isn't great.
NTS radio is playing in my apt basically all day — go download the app, tune in live to one of their 2 stations or browse their archive of shows, exceptionally well curated sets from tastemakers and djs from all over.

I don’t want to listen to music on streaming really anymore unless I am listening to NTS. It feels like being let in a sweet secret to be able to catch radio sets from around the world and for them to be by many people I already admire as artists. soooo very sick

!!! i am so sick of spotify rn. i don’t know if i’ll ever leave spotify - but i feel like, it’s almost impossible for me to discover new music. i could create a classical flute playlist and spotify is like “lets add charli xcx next” - NTS radio has two djs spinning at all times. almost always it’s a hit very seldom is it a miss. sometimes i’m like yeahhh i don’t know if german hardcore rock at 9pm on a tuesday is a move. but it’s where ive found a lot of my recent music. i love this movement of getting away from AI suggestions and allowing humans to choose for me what to listen to

I use NTS radio a lot. I just filter by the genres I like and just listen to the shows. I'll then write down the names of songs that I like and start exploring that artist on my own from there (I use apple music or youtube for this part).

every time I have a doc or eye or dentist appt I book it in manhattan; since i live in brooklyn it makes it a whole thing — I'll do the appt but then get a little treat or have a little hang in the city before coming home. 🥐☕️🌺💐✨💫

specifically two records: chet baker sings and baby breeze.
such a distinctive, loving voice, sounds like he's crooning into my ears, right next to my face . . .
trumpet licks are fire, it's great I had a phase where this is all I listened to, relistening to his discog has been a real treat
