Flexes your visualization skills, plus you often get more detail about the game and teams versus watching on the tv. I follow the Phillies, SF Giants, and Liverpool - each of them have free online radio streams, making it real easy to listen whenever they might be playing. I used to fall asleep to the Phils on the radio in the summertime growing up, helped grow my imagination in ways I didn’t realize until getting older.
Completely outside of the algorithm. Still has funny local commercials. Can be exciting, soothing, meditative depending on the game and the broadcast team.
The ambient sound of the crowds soothes my tinnitus. I don't care about sports, teams, or outcomes. Just knowing that THIS EVENT is happening somewhere RIGHT NOW hits my brain just right.
Even though I live in New Jersey at the moment I’m lucky to get all of the New York radio stations because I live close enough. i have a radio/CD player in my room that has been playing nonstop since October of last year. I go to sleep with it on, but at a really low volume so it can add some depth and dimension to my dreams. My favorite station is 107.5 WBLS. in my opinion it’s one of the few stations that doesn’t keep playing the same songs over and over… there’s something different to hear every day from that station and I think that’s great
Get a haircut, get rid of some clothes you haven’t worn in years, get a new houseplant, get in touch with the changing season, get grounded, get stoned, get in touch with some old friends, get some ice cream, get going
Maybe not *the best* but it was certainly one of the more enjoyable movie theater experiences I’ve had. December 2019, went to a 6pm weekday showing on a whim after a friend called me to see if I could go. I knew next to nothing about the plot, didn’t realize the whole thing would be in black and white and screened in an almost-square aspect ratio, yet was enthralled for every second of it. Turned out to be the last movie I saw in theaters pre-pandemic.
