“It’s important to stand still sometimes. Think of it as a little rest in the long journey of your life. This is your harbor. And your boat is just dropping anchor here for a little while. And after you’re well rested, you can set sail again.” - Days at the Morisaki Bookshop (2023) by Satoshi Yagisawa

I loved this thoughtful book. Ticks every box I needed: - an ode to the transformative power of reading - a contemplation of love, relationships and family - a short read to get out of a slump

this book is so comforting for so many reasons. firstly, it is a very quick read (~100 pages), and secondly, it's main theme is learning how it is okay to be lost in your 20's or really at any age. it promotes the importance of transition periods rather than trying trying to escape the emotions. highly HIGHLY recommend as this book literally healed me <3

One of my colleagues brought King cake today and I got to try some for the first time. I have to say it tasted pretty good (I wanted to go back for more 💀). She then told me about the plastic baby baked inside the cake, and that whoever finds it gets good luck. I didn’t expect to be the one to find it haha. How cool is that! First time eating it and I get the baby. It really made me day hehe. I looked it up and the little baby is called a fève.
