“It’s important to stand still sometimes. Think of it as a little rest in the long journey of your life. This is your harbor. And your boat is just dropping anchor here for a little while. And after you’re well rested, you can set sail again.” - Days at the Morisaki Bookshop (2023) by Satoshi Yagisawa

“The useless days will add up to something. The shitty waitressing jobs. The hours writing in your journal. The long meandering walks. The hours reading poetry and story collections and novels and dead people’s diaries and wondering about sex and God and whether you should shave under your arms or not. These things are your becoming.” -Cheryl Strayed, Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar

One of my colleagues brought King cake today and I got to try some for the first time. I have to say it tasted pretty good (I wanted to go back for more 💀). She then told me about the plastic baby baked inside the cake, and that whoever finds it gets good luck. I didn’t expect to be the one to find it haha. How cool is that! First time eating it and I get the baby. It really made me day hehe. I looked it up and the little baby is called a fève.
