I have no memory of watching this but for the longest time I had this weird recurring nightmare of a fucked up bird and a boob tree and one day stumbled across this movie and what do you know, there was a fucked up bird and a boob tree featured in this movie. still to this day have no idea how or when I watched this weird 70s movie as a '07 kid but I'm not that mad as its actually a pretty cool movie (once you get past the fucked up bird and boob tree)
The 1982 box office flop the last unicorn is the best movie you will watch this month. Ignore the butterfly scene and the scene with the busty tree and the whole thing is ART. Watched it again tonight and theres just so much right with movie. corners were cut, actors were not taught to sing, Jeff Bridges delivers lines with signature disinterest but despite it all the bones of this story, the script and the story boarding are phenomena. Theres no bs, just humans contending with a world far beyond their control and ownership while a unicorn, both naive and wise, strives to save her people in the unbothered, matter of fact way an immortal must hold herself in the human world. Fantastic watch, currently my favorite movie
If you haven’t seen this movie, I envy you. Oh, to see it for the first time. It is one of my absolute favorite things of all time - Mia Farrow voices the unicorn, America does the soundtrack, the animation is beautiful and strange. The song “The Last Unicorn” actually makes me tear up because it is just so good! Fantasy at its best, I cry. ✨
no idea what sparked this but i just had a random meltdown over baseball. the next note after this one was also abt baseball so i think i was just going thru something
one of the best concept albums of all time. follows a young woman named Ethel Cain (the character, not the artist) as she encounters various men and eventually meets her violent death at the hands of one of the men. truly visceral and even disturbing at some parts but so so good, really recommend giving it a listen
