I found this one watching the 2023 Japanese indie film, Perfect Days. Sachiko is an incredible Japanese folk artist. Misora translates to “beautiful sky” and that’s exactly how this downtempo folk rock joint sounds. Recorded in a studio in Hollywood and released in ‘72, Sachiko’s talent shone through to international audiences, expanding from her cult following in Japan.

Should out to Perfect Days for introducing me to her as the character “Mama” I dont speak Japanese but her voice is so beautiful and soothing and her music makes me feel like I’m in a movie.

Currently obsessed with this British rock group from the 80’s. Can’t believe I’ve just now discovered this group.

Inspired by 80‘s production, this song feels bigger than itself. End credits of a movie vibe. Reflective of passing youth. In layered, reverb laden vocals he sings “Growing up is never easy…Wrong enough to say I’m sorry. Owning up to things I can’t undo.” It’s great for a drive alone thinking on all the things that’ve passed you by and all that has yet to arrive :)
