A few days ago I found myself falling down the YouTube rabbit hole, and came up with the first "hidden gem" channel i've happened upon in a long time (ok, 400k subs isn't really a hidden gem but it's outside of my typical youtube wheelhouse). Basically it's a documentation of the restoration of a ghost town a couple co-investors sunk their life's savings into. Cerro Gordo was a silver mining town 3 hours between LA and Vegas that has been completely deserted, left without running water, and is littered with history. Watch Brent as he learns how to do pretty much everything from construction and restoration, to hiking mining and exploring lands that have gone years untouched. Wanna support some of his work? It seems I find a bunch of new videos I want to share every month so let me break it down for you here --It all started with this guy who has parking his car in his ultra tiny apartment down to an exact science and this guy landing a paper airplane onto the tram.Moving on from there, I watched some guy get a 1928 Model A running again, which led me down a path of āAbandoned ____, will it run?ā-YouTube. Everything from old planes to cars and trucks. After a few SteveMREās inspired by Leiaās recs, I found a new favorite nook of YouTube - DeWayne from Dry Creek Wranglinā School. Heās just an older āwranglerā living out in Texas, making YouTube videos on his iPhone XR a subscriber recommended. Sometimes heās chattin with a cigar, going over the rules of wearing cowboy hats, while other times heās teaching you how to buy a horse. I donāt need any of the advice he gives in my daily life, but I just cant get enough of his drawl as he goes on passionately about saddle rifles, trail etiquette, and his ātime clockā on life. His is the only YouTube channel Iāve actually clicked the bell to let me know when thereās a new video to queue up.

pretty sure i saw someone on here rec a clock radio instead of a phone alarm... now i don't open my eyes and immediately look at my phone and instead enjoy the classical and jazz from the college radio station in the morning. yes this ancient beast has a terrible speaker but the form factor is unrivaled
