the department store music playing overhead - extra points if its jazz, warm interactions with other shoppers, befriending the cashiers, finding those treasures you never would have found online, going out for coffee after your shop, feeling so pleased you can support these local businesses because they make your day that much better

smoked paprika
on literally anything & everything. my favourite recipe is korean cheesy corn mayo (with half a jar of smoked paprika, garlic granules and onion powder). the closest i’ve ever been to heaven i think

read this quote today in the article 'Indigenous Communities’ Resistance to Corporate Mining in the Philippines' (Simbulan, 2016) and i'm really stunned by it. really made me think about our relationship with earth and how we view it as something that inherently belongs to us, when it is a lot more than we will ever be
