Actually moving is a pain but I'm glad to do it at this stage when I'm more confident in myself. Sounds like you want to do it and you prob learned some things from when it didn't work out in your 20s. So you're better placed for success this time around

I decided to start a career pivot at 23. I’m 25 now, and the pivot is still pivoting…. while it’s been a while ride I’m also glad I did it. If you want crazy and cool things in your life you have to DO said things.

I can’t recommend a year abroad enough, if it’s accessible to you. Maturity could help, but I think there’s a reason why so many young people travel. It forces you to take steps whether you think you’re ready to or not. You evolve through the good and the bad parts of it. I moved to New Zealand at 20 after living under my mom’s midwestern wing my whole life. I think I would be stagnating if I hadn’t gone through that, though it was absolutely difficult.

*and* from my late-30’s perspective—going through my own changes and second guessing myself—I simply must lol. 23 is so young. If I asked this question I’m sure someone in their 40’s/50’s would laugh too. Change is always daunting and it can be hard no matter what, but “too old” is fake. Do what you want to do, there are no rules!

If the voice in your head is being too mean ask it if it would talk to someone you love this way. My internal monologue can be a 💩 and this sometimes can help it be more constructive
