"Unless we believe and see J̶e̶s̶u̶s̶ faces in the appearance of b̶r̶e̶a̶d̶ cars on the a̶l̶t̶a̶r̶ street, we will not be able to see h̶i̶m̶ them in the d̶i̶s̶t̶r̶e̶s̶s̶i̶n̶g̶ more challenging disguise of the p̶o̶o̶r̶ clouds." Mother Teresa
a few years ago i was driving and got a call from my parents that our dog had passed away. im not very "religious" but i looked up and immediately saw this cross in the clouds. strange to see clouds formed in relatively straight lines like that…it’s always stuck with me. hard to not feel a bit spiritual about it. but maybe we just see what we want to see
Religious verses by St Teresa of Avila, among other women, that were written down almost like mosaics on the walls surrounding the cloister garden in the Santa Teresa convent in Arequipa. I visited at the end of 2019 and really connected with some. I have this one on my background “sufre con ánimo igual, ama lo que mas lastima, que las más áspera lima limpia mejor que el metal.”
Find a legit gym and have the most fun you've ever had in your life. Not only does it teach you how to be a badass but it also teaches you that you're not as badass as you thought you were. It orients you more objectively than lifting weights and flexing in the mirror does. Plus you don't have to use your words anymore
It's sometimes nice to check yourself and live a little. Take an alt route and see what it's like. For me I ran into a bunch of ducks crossing the street and was late for work :)
